The Government of Ethiopia in Exile Organizing Committee (GEEOC) will hold an online public conference on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 3 PM to discuss and answer questions pertaining to the ongoing process forming the Government of Ethiopia in Exile.
Last week, it was announced that the exile government idea that has been discussed and debated on for the past decade is turning into reality with the steps taken to create an organizing committee.
A press statement that was jointly released by ENTC and EYNM on August 21 stated:
The GEE’s ultimate goal is to ensure that there will be a smooth and carefully organized transition to genuine democracy in Ethiopia. We have witnessed the devastating effects of unplanned changes of regime. We should look no further than our own country. Let’s also observe what is currently going on in Syria and Libya. Change is inevitable in Ethiopia because people anywhere rise up against tyranny sooner or later. We want that change to take place in a peaceful manner as much as possible, thus averting another Red Terror, another transition to an apartheid system, and a further threat to the well-being of Ethiopia.”
At the scheduled September 5 public conference, GEEOC representatives will outline the complicated steps that are involved in the arduous but necessary process of creating a government in exile, answer questions from media representatives and the general public.
The organizers are inviting all media representatives and patriotic Ethiopians to attend the conference.
